TV Presenter Peter Purves opens new pet rehoming centre

TV presenter, Suffolk resident and animal-lover Peter Purves was joined by a Blue Cross dog yesterday (Wednesday 25 May) to declare the new Blue Cross rehoming centre in Wherstead officially open.

The Crufts presenter and commentator cut the ribbon at the charity’s gala opening and was accompanied by Blue Cross event dog, labrador Maisie, who was show casing the charity’s new mobile contactless donation system whereby dogs become fundraisers to help raise funds for pets in need at Blue Cross.

I’ve met and interviewed Claire Guest several times, and I’m fascinated by the work she does. She trains dog to sniff out cancer, and has also trained a dog to detect low blood sugar level. She is a charming woman, and clearly a talented and patient trainer. I’ve also witnessed her dogs demonstrating their scenting abilities.
