Dog wins bravery award

Indie - a 10 year-old Miniature Dachshund – from Greasby on the Wirral has won a bravery award following her dramatic recovery from life-saving surgery by the orthopaedic team at ChesterGates Veterinary Specialists.

Her owner, Sheila Yates, noticed that Indie was wobbly and was struggling to walk and immediately took her to her local vet who identified that she was paralysed and had no pain sensation in her right back foot. She was then referred to orthopaedic specialists at ChesterGates.

A breeding bitch was found dumped alone in an alley in the middle - still lactating milk for her absent puppies.

Dachshund Dolly - as she’s been named by her rescuers - was found by a member of the public at around 3am on Monday (19 August) in an alley off Wymington High Street, Northamptonshire.

She’d been left in a small, metal dog crate with a red fleece blanket and a water bowl.
