When two boys befriended a dog who was on her own in a Surrey park, they realised she needed help. Her microchip revealed the dog had been stolen from her home in Scotland. Happily she is back where she belongs. Fiona Gibson wrote her novel, The Dog Share, with her own dog by her side - she talks about her creative process. Julie reveals she is working on podcasting about a project she and Buddy worked on - Crufts or Bust.

Battersea celebrates phenomenal Surrey couple who have volunteered to help over 75 homeless animals

This week is Volunteers’ Week and Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is celebrating two of its dedicated volunteers from Walton on Thames who have made a real difference to the charity.

Animal lovers Sally Curren and her partner John Sullivan have provided a temporary home and loving care to over 75 homeless animals from Battersea’s Old Windsor centre since 2009.

Surrey residents are true animal lovers. The county is the top destination for the homeless dogs and cats from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, with residents giving a second chance in life to over 350 unwanted dogs and cats in the first half of the year.
