The Bella Moss Foundation was founded in 2005 by Jill Moss following the untimely death of her dog, Bella, to MRSA in 2004. It has grown from strength to strength on the vision of one woman and the legacy to one dog now helping animals and their owners worldwide in the prevention, treatment, awareness and education surrounding MRSA and other resistant bacterial infections.

Wolves, woods and woman of the year (nominee)

Yesterday I had a very enjoyable, but at times quite surreal experience. I went on a wolf walk with the UK Wolf Conservation Trust. ( We had been invited to join Jill Moss of the Bella Moss Foundation ( on the walk, as she is a member of the trust. She had some great stories of her experiences with wolves, which will be coming up in an episode of DogCast Radio soon.

Crufts - Day Two

We got more great material recorded at the second day of Crufts. We spoke to TV vet Marc Abraham, who is the co-founder of He and co-founder Andrew Seel are using the power of the Internet to let pet owners tell one another about businesses that are pet friendly. If you have a business you'd like to recommend, check out their awards. Marc is also the veterinary adviser to the Kennel Club, and you can find his blog on the Crufts site.

Marc was helping Jill Moss promote the right messages about MRSA and other serious infections on the Bella Moss Foundation stand. We caught up with Jill and she had some useful advice for dog owners worried about MRSA.

Bella Moss Foundation at Crufts

The Bella Moss Foundation support pet owners affected by MRSA and other serious infections. Bella Moss's story is incredibly touching, as told by Jill Moss, who loved and lost her beautiful dog to MRSA. You can hear her tell their moving experiences in Episode 58 of DogCast Radio.
That episode also has excellent advice about avoiding MRSA from Dr Harley Farmer. Harley manages to take the panic out of the situation, and leaves you knowing that three are many steps you can take to protect your pet and yourself.
