Midwest Vanlife Gathering May 2019

Do you dream of getting out of the rat race? Living a simpler life? Being happier?

We have an interview coming up soon with Jayme and John, who took the brave step of taking to the road with their dogs. They were fascinating to talk to.

If you're interested in"vanlife", or if you live in a van, an event they're hosting in May this year may well be of interest to you.

Here's what Jayme said:

We are hosting the 2nd annual Midwest Vanlife Gathering, May 17-19th. It is a fun weekend of camping and activities with fellow nomads and the whole family is welcome! And we MEAN the whoooole family! Last year we had dogs, cats, and all kinds of buddies joining us!

This event is 100% a fundraiser - we do not keep any of the proceeds whatsoever.Last year we raised over $6,000 for Adventure Works, an Illinois-based nonprofit that works to get kids outdoors and teaches them necessary skills they can utilize throughout life. This year we are excited to team up with them again, and also donate some of the proceeds towards protecting our public lands and also a small portion towards pancreatic cancer research.

The weekend will include all kinds of wonderful activities from yoga to stand up paddleboarding, van life related discussions and workshops from building a van to making money on the road to cooking and more! There will be a large raffle with donations from all kinds of incredible companies coast to coast, open jams around a bonfire, and a potluck that will make your grandmother impressed! (I'm not even kidding -- vanlife people bring their A GAME to van gathering potlucks!)

You can find more about the event on our Facebook Event page.
