Patricia McConnell's debut novel

If you're a dog lover, Patricia McConnell probably needs no introduction, but just in case you don't know, Patricia is an animal behaviorist, author, speaker, and dog lover known worldwide as an expert on canine and feline training and behavior and for her engaging and knowledgeable books, speeches, and seminars.

As you will hear in this interview, she's also a lovely person and lots of fun!

Not content with having a successful career as a nonfiction expert, Patricia has now written her first novel with beleaguered behaviourist Maddie McGowan at the centre. Maddie has her own emotional baggage to deal with, as well as that of her clients' and their dogs. But when her close friend is murdered right in front of her, Maddie becomes ensnared in a mystery from which she might not emerge.

While being a gripping read, which keeps the reader on the edge of their seat - or propped up on their pillows well into the night! - Patricia has created a wonderful world, people with characters host Julie felt she came to know, and some of whom she'd love to sit and watch the sun go down with sharing conversation, coffee and canine cuddles.

Away To Me has been described as “All Creatures Great & Small meets Agatha Christie” by Sy Montgomery, New York Times bestselling author of The Soul of an Octopus.

Patricia McConnell's debut novel beautifully blends immersive nature writing and taut suspense in a canine-fueled mystery that dog lovers won’t be able to put down. And, no dogs died in the making of this novel!
