Your vote could get Buddy into Emmerdale!

Exciting news! Buddy has the chance to win a role in one episode of UK soap opera Emmerdale. ITV show This Morning is running a competition called Dog for the Dales, and they asked viewers to send in a one minute video of their dogs and say why their dog would be good for the role. I did this and forgot all about it, then This Morning rang a week later and said Buddy was on the long list. They asked various questions and said that Buddy had been tagged as "exceptional" by their expert Sarah Fisher and they would ring us back in a few days. In a few days the call came that Buddy had made the shortlist of five dogs who the show would like to come to the Emmerdale village to audition for a place in the final round of the competition.

Buddy and I had a lovely day at the Emmerdale village, and all five dogs got along really well which made the day really enjoyable. Each dog auditioned in front of the judges Sarah Fisher, Dominic Brunt who plays Paddy Kirk in the show, and Emmerdale producer Stuart Blackburn. The judges wanted to see a unique trick from each dog and Buddy's was "bang", where I pretend to shoot him and he lies down flat on the floor. Buddy was very enthusiastic in the audition, but luckily the judges were looking for enthusiasm and so Buddy made it through to the final three.

Now it's down to the public to vote for their favourite dog to get the role in Emmerdale. If you would like to vote for Buddy click on this link - Vote for Buddy! You can see a video of Buddy explaining why he would love to be part of Emmerdale here and you can see footage of the whole process including the auditions here.

I always knew Buddy had star quality, and now he has the chance to show that star quality to the world...or at least to Emmerdale and This Morning viewers! So it just remains for me to say, "Please vote Buddy!"

Take care,

Julie xx
