A host of fabulous celebrities have now been confirmed as judges for this year’s doggy extravaganza the Dogs Trust Honours. Organiser Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, is proud to announce the involvement of five canine crazy celebrities and their furry four legged friends including:

  • Tamara Ecclestone (TV presenter) and her canine companions Alvin, Hobnob, Buster and Socky.
  • Jo Page (Gavin and Stacey actress) and James Thornton (Emmerdale actor) and adorable Jack Russell Daisy.

TV presenter and dog lover, Tamara Ecclestone, explains:
“I simply love dogs and although I currently have four I wouldn’t rule out more! Dogs Trust Honours are a great cause, so lending my support was the least I could do. I’m really looking forward to sieving through all the nominations, especially the Celebrity Canine category.”

The celebrity judges, alongside Dogs Trust CEO Clarissa Baldwin, will be picking their favourite stories in the following categories:

  • The Sun Hero Dog – the award for acts of barksome bravery
  • Golden Oldie – the award for any special dog over seven years old
  • Dogged Devotion – the award for dogs who provide emotional support
  • Celebrity Canine – for dogs in the public eye
  • Dog Star in the Making – the award for talented pet dogs

Dogs Trust CEO, Clarissa Baldwin OBE, says:

“We’re thrilled to have our five wonderful celebrity judges on board. They are all devoted to their respective pooches as well as the greater dog welfare cause.

Dogs Trust Honours celebrate our canine companions and the amazing contributions they make to our lives. Get your doggy skates on and go to www.dogstrusthonours.co.uk to make a nomination because the closing date of 23rd April is fast approaching.”

Dogs Trust Honours are the canine version of the Pride of Britain Awards and will culminate in a star-studded awards ceremony in London on 3rd June 2010. This unique event will uncover the most amazing and heart warming stories from across the UK. The winning dogs will have their paw-traits snapped by renowned photographer Dan Burn-Forti and displayed as part of a gallery exhibition on the night.
