Australian Terrier breed health info wanted

Do you live with an Australian Terrier? If so and you have anything to say about the health of the breed, then Doreen Simpkins wants to hear from you. Doreen can be heard in Episode 75 of DogCast Radio, with a profile of the breed. She breeds awesome Aussies, and now she has been asked to sit on the breed health working group. She is interested in collating information and/or research from as many different sources as possible.

Apparently Aussies are a healthy bunch generally, but the health working group wants to maximise this. Doreen says, "While there are not numerous health problems in Aussies, there does appear to be anecdotal evidence about a couple of health problems, and anything we can do to investigate how to minimise problems would be welcome." She would also be interested in help with working out the inbreeding co-efficients of dogs.

You can read more on what Doreen has to say about the breed on the DogCast Radio Australian Terrier breed profile page, and to find out more about Doreen - who is full of great dog related advice, visit her website Have a Happy Hound. On the DogCast Radio site, Doreen has tips on helping your dog deal with fireworks and How to beat the credit crunch and keep your dog healthy.

Take care,
