A day at the beach

We had our day at the beach yesterday, and it was marvelous after the winter we've been having. The dogs had a great time; as soon as I opened the boot and let Buddy out, he was leaping about, quivering in excitement that he was going to get a run on the beach. Star takes it all a bit more in her stride, and her passion is digging. What was really enjoyable was that the beach was not crowded, so although we had the leads with us, we didn't have to attach them once. Bliss!

Buddy could hardly wait for his tennis ball to be thrown. His only complaint seemed to be that the sand got into his mouth, as each time he brought the ball back he shook his head in an effort to dislodge those pesky grains.

Star almost never makes it to the ball first, and on the extremely rare occasions she does, she gives it a quick sniff and then ignores it. However, she keeps Buddy company during all the running back and forward, so she gets her exercise anyway.

After all that retrieving, they were both in need of a cooling paddle. That's Aberdovey in the background, looking very picturesque in the mist.

Finally it was time for Star to have a rest. After all she's only got little legs!

Roll on summer.

Take care,
