Battersea golden oldie dog has been searching for a home for 100 days

A ten-year-old Collie named Marley has been in the care of Battersea for 100 days, but so far no one has stepped forward to give him a home to call his own.

Marley’s owners brought him into Battersea when a change in circumstances meant that they were no longer able to look after him. Despite being at the rehoming charity for nearly three times the average stay (34 days), he has struggled to find a retirement home; something that staff suspect may be due to his age.

RSPCA releases heartbreaking images of terrified dog ahead of fireworks night

RSPCA issues advice and warnings to animal owners ahead of November 5.

With many public firework displays, including London, being cancelled and more people than ever attending displays at home or with friends, the RSPCA is concerned for the wellbeing of the nation's animals.

New polling by the charity shows that in 2021 52%* of the UK public will be attending unofficial displays, this compares with 41% in 2020 and 23% in 2019.

RSPCA Cymru launches Adoptober rehoming appeal for two dogs, 9 months after they were rescued with 43 others

A special appeal has been launched to find loving new homes for two dogs in Wales who have spent over 260 days in RSPCA care after being rescued from dilapidated farm premises in Ceredigion in January.

Female crossbreeds Lassie and Pippin, who are five and two-years-old respectively, have received months of care and rehabilitation at the charity’s Bryn-y-Maen Animal Centre in Upper Colwyn Bay after having had little human interaction for most of their lives.

A busy cocker spaniel who spent six years using her inquisitive nature and super nose to sniff out cash, drugs and firearms has gone on to continue helping people in her retirement; after helping her adopter’s mental health.

Cocker spaniel Milly was just 10-months-old when she joined Cheshire Police in April 2008 as a sniffer dog. The busy little dog was gifted to the police by her family who struggled to cope with her energy after having a baby.

Opie who is just weeks old is facing a life cut short due to a heart defect but his foster carer is hoping he can first complete his ‘puppy bucket list’.
Heartbroken Opie may look like an ordinary labrador puppy but sadly he suffers from Tricuspid Valve Dysplasia - a rare heart defect which means his life is likely to be cut short.

14-week-old Opie was rescued by the RSPCA in July with 35 other dogs, including many other labrador puppies, from cramped and unsuitable conditions in East Sussex.

The nation’s bravest police dogs and officers have been hailed heroes at a glittering awards ceremony.

The Thin Blue Paw Awards – supported by Animal Friends Insurance – were held last night (Tuesday 14th September 2021) at Knebworth House where six police dogs and handlers were honoured for their bravery, life-saving actions and crime-fighting dedication.

Tandie ended up back at RSPCA Cornwall after her owner died, 14 years after her and her siblings had been rescued and rehomed by the same centre.

An elderly spaniel who ended up back at the animal shelter that rescued and rehomed her as a puppy 14 years earlier has now gone home with a new family - who adopted her brother originally!

Springer spaniel Tandie, 14, arrived at RSPCA Cornwall’s Venton Centre, near St Columb, over the summer after the sad death of one of her owners.

Big crossbreed Benson is struggling to find a home because he’s so big.

A rescue dog is nearing one year in kennels as potential adopters are being put off by his size.

Eight-year-old crossbreed Benson arrived in RSPCA care on 13 October 2020 when his owners were forced to give him up as they were struggling to cope. He came into RSPCA Millbrook Animal Centre, in Surrey, where staff have been working with him.
