The Russian Dog Wizard

People call me Russian Dog Wizard for a reason - for the amazing results I am getting with those pets.
 - Vladae Roytapel

Nowadays it can sometimes seem we are awash with dog whisperers, but there's only one dog wizard! Vladamir Roytapel is the Russian Dog Wizard and has a long history of training dogs, having trained dogs for the Russian government, the Red Army and the KGB.

Vladae also has strong opinions on how dogs should be trained and how they should behave. Here he shares his experiences helping people communicate effectively with their dogs.

If you agree or disagree with what Vladae has to say do get in touch and let us know, and Vladae is also willing to give DogCast Radio listeners advice with their problems. You can get in touch with us in the usual ways, or you can find out more about Vladae at his website, SoCal Dog training, or you can contact him on Facebook.

Dog problems in Australia

They're so over-populated with the dogs, and they're starving, and they're actually starting to kill and eat each other.
 - Sarah Ginis

Listener Sarah Ginis has lived in Australia for over twenty years. She lives in South Australia, is passionate about dog rescue, and has become aware of a dog related problem in her area that has not been getting any attention.

According to Sarah, dogs in some indigenous communities in Australia are not being neutered so they are producing unwanted pups who grow uncared for and have a generally bad standard of life.

Sarah's own dogs were both rescue dogs, and she tells us about life with them - including what it's like to live 300 miles from the nearest vet. To find out more about rescue in Australia, visit the ARSPCA site, or S A Dog Rescue.
